Penn Alumni and Others Enjoy Wine Tasting
The Penn Alumni Club hosted a Wine and Food Pairing at
Jo-Anne Kaplan's house led by wine expert Melina Mastrojohn of HEB on Saturday,
March 23. There were five different pairings: a Prosecco with fruit
kebobs, grilled vegetables and pasta with a Sauvignon Blanc, spicy Mac &
Cheese and Spicy Chipotle Shrimp en brochette with a Chardonnay, chocolate pots
de creme with a Merlot and Angel Food Cake with Raspberry Coulis paired with a
sparkling Moscato. For those of us who love to eat well, it was fun to
learn how the flavors of food can be enhanced by the correct wine.
