Did you know… that FlackCheck.org, a project of the Annenberg Public Policy Center,
was recently launched to monitor the accuracy of what major U.S.
political players say in TV ads, debates, speeches and the like, while
using humor to point out inaccuracies and deceptions?
The newest member of the FactCheck.org
family, FlackCheck is not in it just for the laughs. Knowing that young
voters tune in to late-night comedy shows to get their election news,
FlackCheck is likely to reach a different, younger, audience than
FactCheck. Additionally, FlackCheck will help Kathleen Hall Jamieson,
Ph.D., the Elizabeth Ware Packard Professor of Communication and
Director of the Annenberg Public Policy Center, expand on her research
on human cognition and messaging. Focusing on the role of humor to
reframe the messaging of deceptive ads, FlackCheck will be providing
Jamieson with the data to study this topic. For more information about
